Ring, ring! Your skin called and said the old skin cell turnover can’t come to the phone anymore! When you’re in your 20s, your skin can handle a lot, but as you step into your 30s, its tolerance reduces. Your cell turnover slows down, and you’ll start to see changes like hyperpigmentation, open pores and fine lines. But whether you see these signs or not, you must be more vigilant with your skincare choices so that your skin can thrive even in your 30s.
Rely on Bollywood’s favourite dermatologist Dr Jaishree Sharad’s guide for younger-looking, firm and healthy skin.
Adopt a healthy morning skincare routine
Start with a morning cleanser, followed by a toner and serums. “You can use a vitamin C serum if you have hyperpigmentation or a family history of hyperpigmentation. For dry skin and fine lines, you can use hyaluronic acid,” suggests Dr Jaishree. After your serums, use a moisturiser and then apply your sunscreen.
Invest in a good sunscreen
A sunscreen with SPF 50 and PA 3+ is a must. Even while indoors, it is important to have your sunscreen on as the blue light from your phones and laptops can also affect and age your skin.
Say ‘good night’ the right way
At night, cleanse again with a mild cleanser and apply your serums. “You can introduce a retinol serum into your skincare. Use it twice a week. Follow that up with your moisturiser. You may also introduce an anti-ageing cream containing ingredients like peptides, coenzyme cutane, resveratrol and hyaluronic acid in it,” says Dr Jaishree.
Reconsider the old ways
“Maintain a healthy lifestyle, avoid alcohol, smoking and sugar, and try to exercise and sleep properly. Make sure you learn to destress,” advises Dr Jaishree.
