Happy January!

Eight creators share their beauty green flags for the new year

From sticking to a #cleangirl skincare routine to swapping screens for books, we are busy putting together our resolutions for 2024. Our motto for the new year? Good vibes only. If yours are still a work-in-progress, take some inspiration from our favourite creators. Here’s how they plan on kickstarting their new year.

Kaustav Dey, Marketer & Dreamer

A style resolution you want to steal in 2024:

“To incorporate Indian crafts into my daily wardrobe. The beauty of Benarasi silks, Bandhanis and Kasab are not meant to be saved up only for special occasions. They are to be savoured every day.”

What beauty resolution are you keeping from 2023?

“It is to wear only one signature fragrance, but a different one for every single mood of mine.”

Srishti Guptaroy, Visual Artist & Illustrator

A travel resolution you’d like to keep in 2024:

“Visit the more obscure places that the locals go to and explore a city beyond what is recommended on Instagram.”

What are your beauty goals this year?

“To understand makeup like an art form.”

Ankita Katuri, Content Creator & Entrepreneur

A jewellery trend you’re embracing:
“In 2024, I aim to steer clear of ‘trendy’ jewellery and instead add well-made, statement pieces that come with a story. Think lots of chunky earrings, necklaces, and rings to pair with slinky kaftans and maxi dresses.”

A resolution you want to keep in 2024:
“Getting regular exercise in. Love the difference it makes to my mental health.”

Sarah Sham, Principal Designer, Essajees Atelier

A book that has inspired you recently:
“I read A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and found it really deep and introspective.”

A resolution you want to break and steal in 2024:
“Every year I resolve that I am going to eat healthy, but I know I’ll end up breaking it. I admire and have immense respect for (American designer) Kelly Wearstler’s work and would like to steal all her resolutions for this year!”

Mihir Jogh, Yoga Practitioner & Wellness Consultant

What are you manifesting in 2024:
“More present moment awareness, better time management, and most importantly loving and kind acceptance of my humanness when I can’t achieve my materialistic goals.”

A superfood you’d love to try:
“I would like to have more amalaki or amala (Indian gooseberry), an excellent antioxidant and rejuvenation herb. To stay consistent, I’m ordering amala tablets to consume regularly even while I’m traveling and don’t have access to the fresh fruit.”

Gaurav Ogale, Multidisciplinary artist

What are you looking forward to in the new year:
“Returning to shooting on my analogue camera and seeing the world through film. It continues to excite me every morning!”

A resolution you’d like to keep in 2024:

“I want to keep living in a different city every month or at least every few months. I have made no resolutions ever, so nothing to break.”

Jeet Tailor, Content Creator

What’s a holiday destination on your list this year:
“Definitely Florence. In 2024, I am looking forward to visiting the Italian city and the Tuscan countryside.”

A resolution you’d like to steal in 2024:
“If there’s one thing I’ll be working towards in 2024, it’s furthering my career as a menswear specialist and creator. I want to be on the GQ 100 best dressed list this year.”

Megha Sharma, Designer & Entrepreneur

A beauty trend you’re excited to try:
“Hands down, balletcore makeup. It feels so polished and gives a clean, glass-like look without having to go overboard with multiple products. With time I have realised less is more and good skin can take you a long way.”

A resolution you’d like to break in 2024:
“Making others happy all the time I’m not a Cartier Love bracelet!”
