Mimic the effects of an hour-long jog, a relaxing vacation, or a beauty filter
Beautytok’s obsession with blush holds no bounds. Fuelled by a myriad of micro-trends that emerge faster than a Timothée Chalamet lookalike — there’s a new way to apply blush every week. Glazed Donut by the ultimate beauty girl Hailey Bieber and Boyfriend Blush by content creator Mallory Ossis have taken over our FYP and makeup moodboards. Then come the beauty looks at the recently concluded Autumn-Winter 2025 fashion shows. Rosy peach blush at Armani in Milan, 1980s-inspired neon cheek tints at Alice + Olivia in New York and something far more demure at Miu Miu in Paris.
Don’t know where to start? We’ve narrowed down the list to three trends that anyone can master.
Sunset Blush
Just like an IRL golden hour filter, this look is all about chasing that sun-kissed glow. Begin by applying three tiny dots of red, orange, and pink liquid blush. Now using a soft brush, blend them into a gradient — starting from your cheekbone, and moving towards the apple region. Top it off with warm highlighter to bring the whole look together.
Boyfriend Blush
Just like boyfriend jeans, the idea is that you’ve borrowed the blush from your boyfriend. In this case, it should look like that natural flush of colour your man gets after his workout or a tennis match. Apply cream blush on the apple of your cheek and blend it downwards towards your jawline. For extra dimension, sweep a bit over the bridge of your nose. Use your fingers for that effortless effect.
Blush Blindness
On the contrary, there’s nothing effortless about this look. Think: Retro-inspired blush that takes a more-is-more approach. Treat your blush like an accessory. Select any colour and formula of your liking and start building a monochromatic look. Drape the blush along your cheekbones and swipe it across your eyelids. Channel your inner Rihanna and go all the way up to your temples. OTT glam for the win.
