Small Self-Care Rituals That Make A Big Difference

By Trisha Chawla

Everyday can be a great one to pamper yourself a little extra. Go to the spa, buy yourself flowers, take yourself dancing and do all those other things Miley Cyrus encourages you to in her new song, Flowers. If you ask us, you don’t need a special day to celebrate and show yourself some love. Schedule in some time for these tiny beauty self-care rituals all year round. They’ll only take as long as your favourite song to complete and are the perfect pick-me-up after a long day or week.

YOUR SHOWER IS YOUR SPA
You don’t need to book a staycation with a bathtub to hit relax. Light a candle, play your favourite tunes and transform your shower into a spa. Try a relaxing lavender shower gel followed by an exfoliating body scrub to soothe your muscles, exfoliate dry skin. Then cocoon it with a hydrating body lotion.

GIVE YOUR SCALP A FACIAL
Healthy hair starts at the root. Giving your scalp some extra TLC can balance its pH levels, reduce oiliness or flakiness and lead to stronger hair. Apply these scalp-loving serums and scrubs and use a scalp massaging brush to boost circulation. You’ll wonder why you never did this for yourself!

TREAT YOUR SKIN TO EXTRA TLC
In addition to your 3-step CTM routine, amp up your skincare routine with some major face time goals. An AHA/BHA-based exfoliator that sloughs off dead skin cells to reveal your glow can be the equivalent of that in-salon facial you scheduled. If you top it off with a hydrating mask that works overnight while you sleep, oh the wonder!

Feeling extra indulgent? Apply a sheet mask and roll over it with a jade roller to massage the actives in and drain toxins.

LOVE EVERY BIT OF YOU
When it comes to self-love rituals, don’t forget your hands that are typing, scrolling and working away or your tired feet that help you clock 10K steps every day. Soothe and hydrate them with a relaxing mask and seal in the moisture with a cream. If you really want to lock in the moisture, we recommend wearing socks over your feet overnight.
