But, whether you have your looks planned out according to every event (Monica from FRIENDS, anyone?) or are more of a makeup minimalist and like to keep it simple, one beauty staple that will always make the cut in our routines is red lipstick. 

A single swipe can be an easy way to make a statement with your look, help you look brighter and more awake, and even be the perfect pairing for your favourite brown smokey eye.

Line and define 

Begin by mapping out your pout with a lip liner. This will not only help you get a cleaner, sharper finish, but also prevent the lip colour from bleeding.

Now for the fun part – applying your lipstick. Start from the middle of your top lip and then move on to your bottom lip. Avoid pressing your lips together to prevent the colour from moving around.
