There is no arguing that applying blush to the apple of your cheeks is a timeless technique to look youthful. Recently, we’ve tracked some new blush trends that have taken social media by storm. From a more natural flush to a sculpted look, here is how you can achieve it with a simple tweak.
The sun-kissed look
If you’re looking for the “I’ve just run a mile” rosy flush, then this technique is the one for you. With more of a natural finish, this blush technique makes your skin look all flushed and glowing.
Apply a generous sweep of bright pink blush along your cheekbones, onto your temples, and across the bridge of your nose. You can even go so far to applying it a bit on your chin. Then blend it all out so it looks lived-in.
Blush draping
There’s a big move to the 70s disco era, and blush draping was going to make an inevitable comeback given it’s wonderful power to create chiselled cheekbones where non existed. Start by applying blush on the apples of your cheeks, and blend it along your cheekbones and up onto your temples. It’s like ‘draping’ the edges of your face but with a blush. It helps sharpen your features rather than softening them as blush usually tends to do.
Gradient blush
This blush technique requires you to use different shades of blushes for that beautiful ombre look. Start with a deeper pigment on the apples of your cheeks and blend it out towards your cheekbones with a lighter pigment for a more natural look. It’s perfectly suited even if you are a beginner.
Our pro tip: Apply a little highlighter on top of your cheekbones and watch your face spell out that rosy glow everyone is trying to achieve.
