I scream, you scream, we all scream for sunscreen! If you’ve finally made UV protection a ritual in your skincare routine and think that you have it all figured out- think again. Because sunscreen sins are more common than you think! Here’s what you should skip to get the most of your sunscreen: ☀️ Mixing it with makeup: It reduces the effectiveness of your sunscreen. ☀️ Not applying enough: Always use the two-finger method, wherein you apply sunscreen from the base to the tip of your index and middle finger. ☀️ Layering incorrectly: For physical sunscreens, apply it at the end of your cleanser-toner-serum-moisturiser ritual and in case of chemical sunscreens, apply it before your moisturiser as they need to be absorbed into deeper layers of your skin to be effective. ☀️ Skipping reapplication: Re-apply your sunscreen every 2 hours because sweat tends to make your sunscreen patchy over time, which in turn reduces the protection you’re getting. ☀️ Relying on SPF in your makeup: It’s never enough or equivalent to a dedicated sunscreen.
